No, No, No

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

I just read Joni’s post and one particular sentence stood out to me.

I’ve only been working for roughly four years but I’m already sort of feeling burned out from exerting too much effort in waking up every morning.

Good grief. I haven’t been working full time for even a year and I already feel tired, more emotionally and spiritually than physically. (Though being stuck at my desk for long periods of time has already given me circulation problems.) And it’s not just from waking up early in the mornings. It’s… more than that. My heart is yearning for a change, but my mind is telling me to look before I leap.

Maybe I’m feeling this way because I get bored easily. Oh and let’s not forget that I also get stressed out very easily. Maybe there are better ways to handle things. I don’t know. I don’t even know where I’m going with this. I just felt like letting things out, but now that I’m typing away I’m not sure what to say.

Blargh. I don’t hate my job. But there’s got to be something else out there for me.

I just came back from taking a walk outside, and it was absolutely pleasant. Staying cooped up in a small office for long periods of time is enough to drive me mad (I’m at work right now). So sometimes I go outside to take a break and stretch my numbing legs.

Today’s little walk has been the nicest so far, and it’s all thanks to the weather. There was a light drizzle (I had to go back and get my umbrella) and a vagrant zephyr. Most of the time it’s hot and sunny, which I don’t like much. Walking in the rain is way nicer (as long as I have an umbrella, and as long as it’s not a downpour).

So are Anxiety, Worry, Can’t-Relax, Tension… You get the idea.

Not a Valentine’s Day Post

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

There, my title is also my disclaimer. I don’t like Valentine’s Day but I do love pigs. I just had to share these pictures of Valentine, an Old Spot piglet born with a heart-shaped mark on his body.

What a cutie, eh? You can read the original news article here. (¬_¬ at the last sentence, though.)

I know that the Senate hearings on the ZTE deal are no laughing matter, but… Some people are just clowns.

They’ve Arrived!

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Ze books I’ve ordered from Amazon.com at the beginning of the month have arrived yesterday. Yippee! I’ve already started reading the first one. I must say, shipping costs and customs duties are a huuuge pain in the ass. Yes, they cost me more than the books did. But I really really really wanted those books and they’re not available here - I’ve looked and I’ve asked.

I didn’t really mind paying extra for shipping - I opted for a courier service because our local post office really puts the snail in snail mail, and I wanted to receive my order ASAP. But come on! The customs duties made me want to cry. Well, not really. I was more annoyed.

If only ordering stuff from other countries weren’t so costly. And if only we had a local Amazon site like China and Japan do. I’d be ordering stuff online all the time. Oh well.

If you have any online shopping experiences that you’d like to share, I’d very much like to hear them. =]

Oh by the way, I’ve updated the site a bit, particularly the sidebar and the About section.

Squeak, Squeak!

Today is the first day of the Year of the Rat! And I am wearing black. Inadvertently, though. In case you’re wondering what’s wrong with black… well, nothing, really. But it’s the one color that you shouldn’t wear during Chinese celebrations. Red is THE color to wear. Boy, what my grandmother would do if she saw me right now. Teehee. But like I said, I didn’t mean to. I’m just a tad disoriented in the mornings, and black is pretty much my default color.

Anyway, Remy and Jerry say Happy Chinese New Year!!

Remy

Jerry

I know, I know, Jerry is a mouse. But he wants to be part of the celebration too!

Early Morning Bitch Rant

Monday, February 4th, 2008

You. Are. Annoying. Don’t expect a reply.

I am done answering your nosy questions. I don’t have to and I don’t want to. Who the hell are you anyway?

And quit trying to talk to me. Stop greeting me “good morning”. There’s nothing good about my mornings, especially when you’re trying to get in my face. Creep.

Read a Book a Week: January

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Sometime late last year I came across this post by Steve Pavlina. I got inspired by it, so I decided to start reading a book a week beginning this year. I used to be a real bookworm when I was younger but stopped devouring books sometime in uni. Anyway, I missed the first two weeks of January, but I’ve made up for that. Here are what I’ve read last month:

Week 3 - The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Week 4 - The Awakening and The Struggle by L. J. Smith/Ljane Smith
Week 5 - The Fury and The Reunion by L. J. Smith/Ljane Smith

I’m not yet done with The Reunion, though. But there. I’m pleased with how I’m doing so far.
